The Economy is changing.

Many talented people in our local community are feeling the brunt of this change in the form of layoffs and pay cuts.  Every week our studio gets more and more portfolio submissions from local artists seeking a permanent, salaried position. Unfortunately, Kinetic Illusions works on a project basis and we do not have more than a handful of permanent staff (at this time). This helps us to keep our costs down and to assemble tailor-made all-star teams for each client and each new project.
We do, however, strive to match our freelancers to projects on an a la carte basis to projects that are not within our service range but could still benefit from our stellar local talent pool.

For that reason:

Starting in January, Kinetic Illusions will be implementing a Sacramento Freelancers Program to help promote graphic designers, fine artists, musicians, writers, video professionals, and other Creative Industry Positions to local businesses who need our services but cannot afford to hire an entire team at once or to staff a full-time creative.

Our economy is changing. Menial button-pressing jobs are disappearing and, in my opinion, good riddance. I believe the human mind contains much more potential than the standard minimum-wage position can possibly make use of. Widget companies are becoming obsolete and Idea Manufacturers are revolutionizing every industry.

Creatives may not be the number crunchers behind the next renewable energy source, but we are the people who help turn those ideas into convincing presentations for the venture capitalists to get the project off the ground. We create the innovative advertising that helps to educate the potential users of the value of these products and ideas. In short, the Creatives will be the visual harbingers of the new economy.

Our standard way of living and working is being challenged and is evolving from under our feet during this transitional period. Our resolve will keep us on top of this evolution and those of us that keep our ideals and minds focused on the new sustainable economy (which is experiencing a somewhat painful birth right now) will be the leaders when it finally emerges and begins to develop.

To that end, Kinetic Illusions will be providing this freelance-matching service to help our fellow Creatives through this downtime. Veterans to this industry know there are natural ebbs and flows and we can ride out the storm no matter what. There will always be a need for our services, but the economy needs us even more so right now.

As of today, we are placing a blanket "Call For Creatives". We are looking for the best of the best in all Creative fields to submit their portfolios for review, not for a position in our company, but to be a part of the Sacramento Creative Talent Pool. You must be available and willing to work on a project-to-project basis and to manage yourself, your work, and your clients in a productive and professional manner.

Kinetic Illusions' role in this will be to host what we think are the best portfolios and to help match Sacramento Creative Freelancers to the local clients who need them. We receive many requests for proposals from customers who need a simple logo, a quick animation, a small series of photo shoots, etc. We cannot manage these projects and keep them within budget, but we can put Client and Creative on the same page together to make it happen.
